BRRC 40th Anniversary Event

5.275k, 10.55k, 21.1k, 31.65k 
OR  Join the 42.2k Ekiden Team Relay

Please note that BRRC is now operating events under an approved COVID-Safe Plan.

This event is open for BRRC Members and Visitors to complete either a 5.275k, 10.55k, 21.1k, 31.65 OR form or join a Team of 2-6 Runners for the EKIDEN TEAM RELAY MARATHON of 42.2k. 


All events will be run on the normal loop course beside the Brisbane River. The first turnaround point will be moved closer to the Go Between Bridge to allow for the longer laps of 5.275k.

Members or Visitors wanting to run in the Ekiden Team Relay Marathon must form their own team of 2-6 runners and select a Team Name. The Team Name will be required when each team member registers for the Ekiden Relay Marathon.

Start time  is  6.00am on Sunday 22nd May, 2022.

Note:- an 9.00am 'cut-off time' applies to this event. If you are unable to complete your chosen distance before the cut-off time of 9:00am, please choose a shorter distance.

All Team Members running in The Ekiden Team Relay Marathon will start together at the start time of 6:00am and complete 1 or more lap up to a total of 8 laps for the Team.  All 8 laps for the team must be completed prior to the cut-off time of 9:00am. 

Teams competing in the Ekiden Team Relay will be eligible for the following prizes :

First All Male Team     - $250- Gift Card

First All Female Team - $250- Gift Card

First Mixed Team*      - $250- Gift Card

*(Female team member/s must complete a minimum of 2 of the 8 laps)

As we are operating our events under an approved COVID-Safe Plan, members must pre-register online from the Monday prior to each event date, until 7pm on the Saturday night before the event.

No late entries will be accepted and you will not be able to register on the morning of the event due to our COVID-Safe Plan.

Any spectators or anyone accompanying a competitor and not running, will also have to register with you.

An important part of the Pre-Race 'on-line' Registration is to watch the Pre-race Briefing Video and read the COVID-Safe Plan. You need to acknowledge understanding of both of these before registration can be accepted.


Events are limited in numbers and registration will close when we reach our maximum number of competitors.

Event Registration is NOW OPEN and will close 7pm sharp on Saturday 21st May.


IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION - please read before you register ​​


If you feel unwell, have any symptoms of a cold or flu – stay at home and get tested. This includes our wonderful and generous volunteers, officials, competitors and spectators. Click here for symptoms

  • You must pre-register online by 7:00pm on Saturday night before the race. No late entries can be accepted and there will be no race entries available on race mornings. This is important to make sure we comply with the current guidelines. We will also have to cap numbers so you should aim to register as soon as Pre-race Entries open.

  • Spectators are not encouraged at this early stage of return to racing. If you need someone with you, they need to maintain social distancing from the competitors and others and they will need to be registered when you enter online.

  • Bring your own water bottles and breakfast. We will not have our normal water tables and we can’t provide our normal breakfast at the moment.

  • Please do not congregate in groups before, or after, the race. The winners and placegetters’ medals will be presented when the results are published online.

  • Please do arrive in time to warm-up and be at the start line at 5:55am.  The Pre-race Briefing will be provided online but any other important safety messages will be delivered at the start line if needed.

  • Follow any BRRC signs or other COVID safety markings. These are here for your safety and to ensure we are complying with our COVID-Safe Plan.

  • Please DO NOT ENTER the SBSC Clubhouse - it is out of bounds for everyone apart from Club Officials and Volunteers.​​

    • Toilets are located in Orleigh Park

    • Leave your belongings in your car

    • ​Bikes will need to be locked up outside the Clubhouse


IMPORTANT – Please do not attend BRRC ...

  • If you have any symptoms of COVID 19 – See here for what they are

  • If you have been in a designated COVID hot spot in the last 14 days or have been in contact with someone that has been in a designated COVID hot spot in the past 14 days

In accordance with our COVID-Safe Plan, runners should not turn up earlier than they need to warm up, and be on the start line 5 minutes before the published start time.

You must maintain Social Distancing until you arrive at the start line.

Please ensure your timing chip is attached towards the front of your shoe. 

You should use the SHOELACE to secure the tag to your running shoe.

If you have not yet collected your timing chip, be sure to arrive in time to collect it from the Chip Collection table.

If you have registered online and forget your timing chip, you can run but you will not receive an 'official' time, as we cannot issue temporary timing chips.

The Timing Tent is only accessible by the designated results officials only, so you must not go near the Timing officials.

There will be a separate table for collecting of chips and for discussions with officials, if required.

Remember, Social Distancing applies when interacting with any official or volunteer.  Also, there is to be no shaking of hands, high fives or other contact to be had post-race.

Please leave BRRC as soon as possible after you have finished your run and maintain Social Distancing at all times when off the course.

At that time, the timing system will be switched off and all volunteers (including course marshals & drink station attendants) will begin packing up.
