Welcome

Welcome to Brisbane Road Runner Club (BRRC) Website.

Brisbane Road Runners Club (formerly known as the Queensland Marathon Road Runner Club) is a non-elitist running Club that has been established for over twenty years.

Brisbane Road Runners Club is a club formed to provide regular road runs and walks for all grades of runners in and around the Brisbane area. Events are usually held every other Sunday, with the calendar of races being available for the year.

All runners and walkers are encouraged to participate in our events and races are held on an accurately measured 5 kilometre looped course, with all kilometre points displayed. For distances longer than the 5 kilometres, multiple loops are used. We have a time clock, a finisher's chute and all runs have police permits and presence, marshals on the course, and aid stations at the start/finish line and just under the 2 kilometre point.

For more information, download our BRRC Brochure.

Our events are a great way to meet a great bunch of like-minded people with whom to enjoy your Sunday morning run, to swap running experiences with and to find out about their training techniques/programs plus up-coming events.

An Important Notice ...New Location for BRRC

On June 29th we trialed using the facilities of the South Brisbane Sailing Club (SBSC) for the Club’s event.

Thank you to everyone who came along to the trial. It was great to see so many of you there and thank you too for providing us with your valuable feedback.

Here’s an update.

Following on from the trial the BRRC Committee met to review the event and based on the very positive feedback from you and the continued uncertainly of the Club’s current location it was decided to take the appropriate steps for a permanent move to South Brisbane Sailing Club.

The Committee set a target date of 21st September for the move and we have since been negotiating with SBSC and working through some of the logistical challenges such as the course distance/s, revising the set-up for the start/finish and taking steps to minimize impact on residents close to the venue.

We have all worked very hard to make this happen and to help us to continue with keeping our run course/s safe and to assist us in providing a pleasant Club atmosphere we seek Members’ assistance to support the Club by making yourselves available for your scheduled Club Roster duties.

Enclosed in the Spring 2008 magazine you’ll find a location map of our new “home” (for those who were unable to come along to the trial) - please contact us if you have any questions about the move. For anyone looking to visit Brisbane Road Runners Club for the first time refer to New BRRC Location Map for details.

The Committee looks forward to seeing you there on 21st September 2008 and for many more Club events to come.

Happy running with BRRC...
